I'm Addicted to Board Games at 70+ Years Old

It's time to come clean. I've developed a secret love for board games, and not just the classics like chess or checkers, no, it’s all about those intricate strategy games with tons of pieces and rules that take hours to set up and play. My grandson got me started on this hobby when he brought over a game called Settlers of Catan one day. Before I knew it, I was spending more time with colorful little cardboard tokens than I ever did playing shuffleboard at the senior center. To be honest, my obsession has made me a bit competitive too. Last week, I challenged some of my friends to a game night featuring a complex card game where you have to manage resources and build empires. Let's just say they were shocked when grandma ended up being the one teaching everyone how to play! It was all in good fun, but now people treat me like a board gaming expert instead of asking about my knitting patterns. I suppose it’s not so bad, as long as we don't have any more of those intense games where I need snacks between turns or else risk falling asleep!
