Just Moved and Became a Needy Neighbor

So I recently moved into this new apartment in downtown because it was closer to work and had that cute little balcony overlooking the city skyline. Anyway, turns out my next-door neighbor is also super friendly but keeps inviting me over for coffee or just to chat about random stuff. At first, I thought it was cool, but now it’s starting to feel a bit intrusive, like maybe they’re only being nice because I’m new here and haven’t made any other friends yet. So yesterday when they knocked at my door with cookies, I kind of snapped. I said something along the lines of ‘Isn’t it rude to keep popping in uninvited?’ which felt like such a jerk move after all their kindness. You know how sometimes you get so focused on one thing that your brain jumps to this totally unrelated thought? So while I was thinking about apologizing, my mind started wondering what would happen if someone from the previous apartment hadn’t been as friendly. Would they have taken advantage of me being new and tried to scam me out of some money? It’s silly how these thoughts can pop up. Anyway, back to reality, now I feel like a total jerk and am not sure how to fix this without making it worse. Should I just be more straightforward about my boundaries but also apologize for overreacting? Or do you think people might find that weird too? What would you all do in this situation? Am I being overly sensitive or is this normal?
