I'm Not Really Sure What I'm Confessing Here

So yeah, sometimes at work I get a bit too invested in the whole 'customer service' thing. Like, today this guy comes in and his coffee order was slightly more complicated than usual, two sugars, soy milk, and an extra shot of espresso, whatever that even means. So naturally, I spend about ten minutes explaining why regular sugar is better for him (because, you know, health benefits) while he just sits there staring at me like maybe he wants to punch me in the face. And then when he finally gets his coffee and thanks me, wait for it, he says, 'Thanks, but next time could you just make my damn drink instead of giving a biology lecture?' Oh, snap! Burned, huh? But seriously, am I really supposed to be some sort of barista magician who reads minds or something? And if not, why do people expect me to know every possible combination of coffee they could ever want without asking first? Anyone else deal with this stuff or is it just my cursed cafe?
