Lost Focus While Gardening

I was supposed to organize my kid's school calendar today but ended up planting a whole row of marigolds. It’s been raining so much lately that the garden is looking pretty wild, and I couldn't resist giving it some structure. By the time I came inside, the calendar was in worse shape than ever, with events scribbled out and new ones barely legible. Now I’m stuck wondering why a little bit of dirt and seeds seemed more pressing than the whole year’s schedule for my kid's extracurricular activities.
