I Broke My New Phone on My First Day

So I started my new job at this fancy tech company yesterday. You know how they say 'dress for the job you want'? Well, maybe it's better to be prepared with a spare phone when your boss asks you to demonstrate using their latest product. I was so excited and trying way too hard to impress everyone that I accidentally dropped my smartphone down the elevator shaft on my first day. I mean, seriously? Talk about embarrassing. My nerves were already shot from meeting all these new people, and now this. The IT guy had to come over and make sure there wasn't sensitive information on it (there wasn't), but still. How do you look so cool, then so clumsy in one fell swoop? I guess the best thing about working with tech is that things break and get replaced all the time, so hopefully this isn’t a sign of what's to come.
