i did the opposite of being supportive

my mom keeps telling me to get out more and meet people but i kinda hate social stuff. so last week when she was talking about how great it is that her friend’s daughter just started working at this cafe, i totally lied and said i applied there too. then i had to go through all the motions, pretending like im interested in getting a job, applying on their website. now i feel bad because my mom seems really excited for me but inside im still doing nothing.
