Lost My Ring At The Beach

I lost my grandpa's old ring at the beach last summer. It was just a plain band but it held so much of his history and our family memories. I had worn it off and on since he passed away five years ago, but that day, as I waded into the waves to feel close to him again, it slipped from my finger without me even noticing until hours later when I dried off and realized it was gone. Even though it's just a small band of metal, losing it feels like part of him is missing now too.
