I Joined a D&D Group Against My Better Judgment

So I decided to give Dungeons and Dragons a try last week. Honestly, it was my friend Alex's idea, they've been pushing me for months. But seriously, what was I thinking? Role-playing games have never been my thing; I prefer something more straightforward like chess or video games where there’s clear rules and strategy involved. And now here I am, sitting in the living room of some stranger named Mike who we all met through an app. We start with these character sheets, full names, personalities, backstories... it feels weirdly personal. And then the dice-rolling to determine our stats. It's all so unpredictable and chaotic compared to what I’m used to. Yet, there’s something oddly captivating about it, like a puzzle that never fully reveals its solution. Maybe this is just another one of those times where I throw caution to the wind for no real reason except peer pressure and mild curiosity. Am I really going to stick with this hobby? Or was last night just a momentary lapse in my otherwise logical life?
