The Great Sock Mystery

Okay, so here’s this super embarrassing thing that happened last week. My mom was really mad because she couldn’t find one of her favorite red socks. She kept asking if I’d seen it or worn them. But the truth is...I hadn’t even seen the sock! So what did I do? Yeah, you guessed it, I told a little white lie and said I found it in my room but accidentally threw it away. Silly, right? It’s like this whole mystery was created out of nothing because of one missing sock. The thing is, mom believes me so much that she started asking around if anyone else has seen the sock or knows where it went. And you know what made it even more ridiculous? She put up a little lost and found notice on our fridge with my picture next to a sock emoji like I was some kind of missing pet or something! Now every time someone comes over, they look at that poster and ask about me like there’s an actual search party. I can’t tell her the truth now because she’ll be even more annoyed with me for making such a big deal out of nothing. So here I am, stuck in this little web of my own creation thanks to one measly sock.
