My Kid's First Lie
Anonymous Flirty Busybody #534 · General
When my kid was five, he came home with a broken toy from school that day. He said it fell out of his backpack by accident during playtime but when I looked inside the bag, there were crumbs and other signs of damage done earlier at lunch. Turns out, while he was supposed to be playing nicely with others, my son decided to use his friend's toy as a weapon for target practice against another kid in their class. Naturally, this didn't go well, and soon everyone was in tears and I had to sort it all out. My heart sank, and I realized that even at such an early age, kids can be sneaky and selfish when they're not feeling watched or accountable. But then I hugged him tight, told him how we always clean up our own messes, and explained why hitting others with toys isn't okay. In the end, he apologized to his friend the next day and promised to share better in class from now on.
