Tired Lies

I swear I'm starting to get tired of lying just to keep my night shift job. Last week, my boss asked if everything was okay at home because I had a sudden need for an extra hour off one day. Couldn't admit I fell asleep on the job while sorting files and woke up only ten minutes before my alarm went off, that would've been like handing in a resignation letter right there. So I fibbed about my son being sick, knowing he was actually at his friend's house playing video games. My conscience nags for a second, but honestly, who doesn't need some slack when life gets too hectic? It’s not like I’m robbing banks or anything.
