Grad Student Gaffe at the Coffee Shop

Hey there! So today was one of those days where everything seems to go wrong, but I'll make light of it because that's how we survive. You know how sometimes you're in such a rush or your brain is so fried from studying that you just grab the closest thing without thinking? Well, I did something even more ridiculous than that. Today, while getting my morning coffee at the campus shop, I reached into my backpack for my student ID to prove it was my meal plan card, except I grabbed my neighbor's keychain by accident and tried to pay with a neighbor's key! Talk about being unprepared. The barista had this look on their face like they were trying not to laugh. Luckily, it turned out the guy behind me offered up his student ID when he saw my blunder. I felt pretty silly but managed to thank him and leave before getting too embarrassed. So yeah, if you ever need a reminder why you should double-check your stuff before walking into public, this is it. Anyway, coffee shop mishaps aside, has anyone else ever accidentally taken something that didn't belong to them in the midst of their rush? What was your most embarrassing moment like mine?
