Another Dull Week at Work

So here I am again, same desk, different week of endless emails and meetings. I mean, who doesn't love staring at spreadsheets for hours? Yeah, that's right, not me. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back: my boss asked if anyone could take on a 'special project' involving more paperwork. And just like clockwork, everyone started to mumble and shuffle their feet. I didn't raise my hand, of course, but then again, I didn't hide under my desk either. Anyway, I decided to make the best of it by trying out some weird productivity hacks I found online. Like drinking a shot of espresso every hour or listening to an 'asparagus orchestra' playlist (apparently white noise sounds like vegetables for better focus). Spoiler alert: none of these worked. Now I just feel jittery and hungry all day long. So here's my confession: despite being the one who stays late at work and does more than what's expected, sometimes I secretly hope that 'special project' turns into a full-time nightmare for someone else, just to break up this boring routine.
