A Little Fib at Work

I felt so bad today after I told my boss I needed to leave early because of a dental appointment. The truth was that I just wanted an excuse to get out of the office a bit early to pick up some birthday presents for my niece. Now I'm wondering if she'll find out and think less of me. It's such a small thing, but it's been bothering me all afternoon.
