so i have been a stay-at-home parent for the last few years after my partner got a good job. it's been nice but also stressful, keeping up with all the stuff that comes with kids you know? laundry, feeding them, playing, bedtime routines... it piles up quick. there was this one time when my kid wanted to do something special as a treat and i really didn't want to be bothered but felt bad saying no. so i lied about having important work calls or needing to make dinner from scratch every single day just to get out of the activity. it's not like there were actual calls or anything, just that i was being selfish. now my partner knows and is upset with me for lying. even worse, my kid seems hurt by all this too and doesn't trust me as much now. am i a bad parent? what should i do to make things better?
