my siblings are drama queens

so my parents have been talking about getting a new puppy and i was all for it cos honestly i need some furry affection in my life. but then my sister says she wants the puppy to be her emotional support animal, like seriously, what kind of dog is gonna give you support when your fave reality tv show got cancelled? and my brother thinks he should get the first pick at the shelter just cuz he's younger than me even though i've had a pet before. it's like every little thing turns into this huge deal with them. am i just being too rational or is everyone else just really overreacting?
