Why Does Everyone Hate My New Hobby

So, I started knitting this week... It's fun and relaxing but why do all these people look at me like I have three heads whenever I take my knitting out in public. Like, is it that weird to just be chill with a hobby? And what’s up with the eye rolls from my friends when they see how obsessed I've become with patterns and yarn weights. Don’t get me wrong... I love every second of it but everyone else seems pretty annoyed. Do other people feel like this too or am I exaggerating? ...Sometimes I wonder if there's a secret knitting hater club out there trying to ruin my fun. Anyway, who cares what others think right? I’m sticking with my needles and hooks for sure...
