working when everyone else sleeps

so i work nights at the warehouse and there’s this one guy who works days, we barely see each other but he always leaves notes on my desk for me. stuff like “hey night owl keep it down” or “you must be tired” and i always reply with similar little notes back. but last week i was feeling really lonely and wrote something way more personal and heartfelt. now i feel super weird about it, like maybe he thought i was flirting or something. should i just pretend nothing happened and act normal? is that even possible at this point?
