My Code Refactoring Obsession

I've become obsessed with refactoring old code to the point where it's interfering with my work productivity. Whenever I come across a piece of outdated, messy code that was written by myself or others, I feel an overwhelming urge to clean it up. This isn't always practical for project timelines, but every time I see those sections, I can barely focus on anything else until the refactoring is done. It's like having a compulsive disorder where tidying up old code takes precedence over adding new features and solving urgent bugs. My colleagues often joke that they need to avoid me during code review sessions because I might go into full-on cleanup mode at any moment.
