At the ER...

I work in the emergency room...sometimes I find myself thinking about how odd it is that my day job involves seeing people at their absolute worst moments...One night, a woman came in clutching her chest...she was having a panic attack and not a heart problem...the look on her face...it was pure terror...I gave her some medication and stayed with her until she calmed down...since then, I've been replaying the scene over and over again in my head...is it normal to feel like you might have saved someone's day...or week...or life? Am I being overly dramatic...or is this just part of caring too much about patients? What do others think...?
