The First Day Jitters

I thought I was ready for my new job. After all, I’ve been looking forward to this chance forever. But the first day was a real letdown. It’s not that the people are unwelcoming; they’re actually quite nice. The thing is, everyone seems to know what they're doing, and there's so much work going on that I feel like an outsider. Today, instead of striking up conversations or asking questions, I found myself just sitting at my desk, staring out the window during lunch break. It’s a beautiful place with lots of potential, but right now it feels like starting high school all over again.
