Oops, I Broke a Rule at Work

So here’s something I did that probably shouldn’t have happened on my first day at this new job. Yeah, I spilled coffee all over the break room table and then decided to hide it by pretending nothing was wrong. But then, in an attempt to fix things before anyone noticed, I tried using water to clean up the mess instead of actually getting paper towels or a cleaner. Big mistake! The wood surface ended up swelling slightly from the sudden moisture change, and now there’s this weird spot that will probably need replacing. At least it was a quiet day, so nobody saw me do anything except get flustered and leave quickly. I’ve been sneaking glances at everyone to see if they noticed or are planning on saying something about it. So far, silence. But honestly? If I could go back in time, I might still do the exact same thing again just because hiding from the truth for a bit felt like such a relief.
