I Secretly Enjoyed Being Late to Class Today

Anonymous Charming Gossip #919 · General

Today was one of those days where I woke up feeling completely out of sync with everyone else's clock. My alarm went off at the normal time, but I hit snooze a few too many times. By the time I finally rolled out of bed and rushed through my morning routine, I realized it was way past when I usually leave for school. I knew my students would be waiting for me in class already, so I started driving as fast as I could within reason. Traffic was light thankfully, but I still arrived at least 10 minutes late to the first period. Walking into that classroom filled with curious eyes and a few whispers, I couldn't help feeling slightly smug about it all. It's not something I'm proud of, but there was this sneaky satisfaction in knowing my students would be talking for the rest of the day about how Mrs. Green arrived late for once. Part of me enjoyed watching them try to maintain their usual focus while secretly speculating about what could have caused my tardiness. It was a rare moment where I got to experience, even briefly, being one of the kids instead of the teacher.
