Started Painting...

I recently began painting as a new hobby... It's fascinating but overwhelming too. I spend hours at the easel, trying to capture what I see on canvas... Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard I try, my brush just won't do justice to the colors and shapes in front of me. Am I supposed to feel this stuck? Any advice from more experienced painters out there...
