When My Teen's Texts Turn Me into a Helicopter Parent

So here I am, confessing to my fellow parents. Whenever my teenage daughter texts something like, 'Going to the mall with friends,' suddenly all these questions pop up in my head, how many are going? Are they taking a car or Uber? And yes, what time is she expected back home? My anxiety levels skyrocket every time her phone lights up with notifications from social media. Now, I know it's normal for me to want to make sure everything is okay and that she’s safe, but the questions just keep coming out even when she rolls her eyes at me. It feels like I’m suffocating my kid with care, and maybe paranoia? Am I overreacting here? Is this a phase every parent goes through? Or should I just relax and trust her more?
