A Small Lie at Work

I lied to my boss today about why I was late. Instead of telling him it was because I hit snooze one too many times and overslept, I said there was a huge traffic jam on the highway. It felt so wrong afterwards, but who wants to admit they’re just not good at getting out of bed? On my way in this morning, I even noticed the streets were almost empty. Maybe I should’ve been honest because now I feel like every time I drive to work, I’ll see cars driving normally and think about that lie. It’s a small thing, but it sticks with me.
