Forgot About Laundry Day

So here's this thing that happened recently and it's been bugging me. I usually do laundry on Sundays for my family, including the teens who are always complaining they have nothing to wear if their clothes aren't clean. Last week, I had a meeting that ran late and by the time I got home, it was already Monday evening. Instead of admitting this little mistake, I just told everyone I did all their laundry on Sunday but forgot to put out their fresh clothes yet. It's not like anyone needs their clean shirts right away anyway, right? But then, of course, someone asked if they could borrow a shirt from me for school tomorrow and I had to make up another lie about having no extras because it would be embarrassing that my kid has less laundry than I do. Really, how did I let this little white lie spiral into something so ridiculous? Oh well, at least now the teens have one more reason to complain about their mom's unreliable laundry habits.
