I Broke My Brother's Video Game Console for a Joke That Backfired Horribly

So here's my confession. I'm the youngest sibling, and yeah, sometimes I get up to stuff that isn't exactly ideal. Last week, my brother got this new video game console, and he was absolutely obsessed with it. Every night, he'd be holed up in his room for hours, grinning like a fool over some ridiculous level or quest or whatever you call these things in gaming lingo. I've always been a bit of a prankster at heart, and there's nothing better than seeing the look on someone's face when they're shocked by something that seems out of nowhere. So I thought to myself, 'Why not take this new toy of his and give it a little makeover?' I waited until he was out of the house for one of his school activities. Then I carefully unplugged his console from everything, hoping to just add some tape or stickers without ruining anything majorly. But my plan didn't go quite as expected. So in my head, I thought it'd be funny if he came home and saw his precious machine with a silly sticker that said 'Property of The Great Game Master.' But then, while trying to stick the piece of tape on, I somehow managed to bend one of the ports or something. When I plugged everything back together again and tried out my handiwork, there was this awful noise like someone had just run an old computer until it literally smoked. And then...nothing. The console wasn't working at all. The screen didn't even turn on. So much for a little joke. My brother came home to find his favorite game system completely kaput and I, standing there with the tape in my hand looking like a deer caught in headlights. He was not pleased. He practically turned into a storm cloud and gave me that look parents have when you've just made a major mistake. And let's face it, he was right to be upset. It took weeks of me being super careful around him and offering to help out with chores to pay for his new console. So yeah, the lesson I learned is that sometimes playing the fool isn't worth breaking something precious to someone else, especially when you're trying so hard not to get caught in the first place. It's just one of those reminders that we shouldn’t mess around with other people’s property even if we mean well.
