Confessions of an Overachiever

I’m 45 and I’ve always been a go-getter. Workaholic, really. But lately, I can’t stop thinking about these little daydreams where I pretend to be someone else for a day, just relaxing on a beach somewhere, no worries, no deadlines. It’s silly because I know it’ll never happen. Yesterday, I even bought myself some flip-flops and sunglasses and put them in my car, hoping maybe... just maybe, I’d pull over at a rest stop by the ocean and pretend to be that carefree person for an hour or two before returning to reality. Ended up driving straight home with those silly beach items mocking me from the back seat. Still, every time I see those flip-flops, it makes me smile like a kid.
