The Secret Book Swap

Ever since I found out my little sister is reading those graphic novels under her bed, I've been swapping them with the ones from my closet. You know, the ones that have all sorts of scary and gory scenes. She's so innocent about it too; she thinks they're just stories with cool pictures. Every time she asks where they came from, I say 'I found them at a yard sale.' It's not like I'm encouraging her to read anything harmful, but there’s something in me that gets a kick out of seeing her reactions when the plot takes dark turns. Now every night she’s asking for me to check on her because she says it makes her feel safe knowing an older sibling is around. The guilt builds up inside me, and I know I need to stop soon before it goes too far.
