...I might have exaggerated that test's difficulty...

So there was this math test last week... I didn't really think it would be too hard... But when I got back to my classroom and saw the results, well, let's just say they weren't what I expected. So in my post-test discussion with the class, I may have hinted that it was a bit trickier than it actually seemed... Maybe added a couple extra wrinkles to spice up the explanation of why some answers were incorrect... It felt like a small fib at the time but now it just seems silly and maybe even slightly unfair. But hey, they laughed about it, so mission accomplished? I guess my goal was to get them thinking more critically next time, which kinda backfired when all they did was giggle and say 'Ms. Smith exaggerates'... Oh well, another day, another lesson learned. It's not like the whole class failed or anything... just a few points here and there that could've been better with honest feedback from me. But I suppose my intentions were in the right place, trying to encourage them to be more prepared... maybe next time I'll stick closer to reality and leave some room for imagination elsewhere.
