Lunch Money Confession

So I made up this story in math class today that I lost my lunch money on the way to school. I figured it would get me out of having to share for snack time since they do a rotation and yesterday was my turn to bring cookies. I just needed something, anything, that wasn't fruit or vegetables. It’s not like everyone was going to believe I’d really drop all of my lunch money in the middle of the street anyway. But then this kid, Jake, says he saw me with it at recess, right when we got back from playing on the swings near the parking lot. He must have been standing by that tree watching us. Anyway, now everyone is looking at me funny and asking me questions. I didn’t think they’d notice if someone left some cash lying around on a bench or something. Guess I’ll just pretend my mom said she’d bring money for tomorrow’s snacks instead.
