Why Did I Do That?

So, a couple of weeks ago, my colleague Emma and I had a big project due. We were both pretty stressed out about it. One day, she comes into work with this absolutely stunning outfit, she has these killer high heels, a bright yellow blouse that just made her eyes pop, and her hair was styled perfectly. She looked like she stepped straight off the runway. I got so caught up in admiring how great she looked that I totally spaced on our project meeting time. We were supposed to hash out this crucial part of the project over lunch, but instead, all I could think about was her outfit and how amazing she seemed. When we met later for drinks after work, I mentioned it off-handedly, 'You look so great today,' I said. But that wasn’t enough to make up for my screw-up. Now every time I see Emma in the office, I feel this weird mix of awe at her fashion sense and guilt over how poorly I handled things. Did she notice I was staring? Am I going to lose credibility with her on the project because I couldn't focus properly when it mattered? Anyone else ever get distracted by something small like that? How do you move past it?
