Spending My Freelance Budget on Plants

I swear I'm going to start saving more money soon. But every time I get a big freelance job and actually manage to pay my bills, I find myself hitting up the plant store instead of putting that extra cash into savings like I should. I end up with all these new plants that look great but eat through my budget faster than you can say 'sunlight requirements'. It's not like they're bad expenses, houseplants are cute and green and give me something to water, unlike a piggy bank or an RRSP. But at this rate, it'll take me until next century before I can afford that apartment with the big windows and a view.
