Took Cookies Without Asking

I know I'm not supposed to help myself to my granddaughter's cookies without asking. But they looked so tempting sitting on the counter. Plus, she was out of town for her weekend camping trip. So what harm could it be? I popped a couple into my mouth and oh boy, were those delicious! They reminded me of the ones we used to make together when she was little. My son came home early from work though, saw empty cookie spots on the plate. He gave me this look, like he knows everything and I'm busted for sure. But then, he didn't say a word about it. I did sneak another couple yesterday while he wasn't around just to make sure nobody caught me red-handed again. Nobody should have that much cookie goodness sitting out without someone eating them! Can you blame an old lady?
