Caught My Kid With Their Nose in the Cookie Jar

So I was feeling really stressed out earlier today and decided to treat myself with an afternoon cookie. There were three left in the jar, but I didn't want my kids finding them before dinnertime, so I said there were none when they asked later. Now every time I look at that empty cookie jar, I just can't help giggling like a little kid who got away with something naughty! But seriously, how do parents always end up keeping the best secrets from their own children? It's absurd!
