My Mistake at Work - The Long Build-Up

I just started working as a data entry clerk at this accounting firm. Everything seemed fine until last week when I was tasked with entering financial data for an important client, Mr. Lee's company records. I double-checked my work and thought everything was in order. But then I realized that while correcting one mistake, I accidentally deleted another set of numbers that were crucial to the calculations. It wasn't until after sending the corrected file back that I noticed this. My boss went into a panic because Mr. Lee's financial statements are due for an audit next week, and now we're scrambling to correct everything. The irony is, I was trying so hard not to make mistakes that I made a bigger one in my rush to fix what I thought was wrong. Now everyone is looking at me with these concerned faces like I'm some sort of data entry ninja who just failed a mission. It's a mess and all because I was too eager to please, thinking if I worked extra hard, nobody would notice the small stuff. But in my zeal to impress, I ended up causing a huge headache for everyone involved.
