...That One Night I Pulled an All-Nighter at Work...

Hey there, folks. So this one time last week, something wild happened while I was working my bartender shift at this bustling little pub downtown. It was a Friday night and we were swamped with people celebrating all sorts of things, birthdays, anniversaries, just regular old weekend escapades. But you know the drill; sometimes being social can be exhausting... And there I was, trying to pour drinks, keep everyone's glasses filled without spilling anything, and somehow still manage to stay polite and attentive like a pro bartender should.... Then it happened. Someone ordered a drink that we were temporarily out of. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue; you make the best substitute or offer something else... But on this particular night, my brain just froze. I offered them something totally off-menu, a concoction based on who knows what, and to my shock, they seemed to like it! It became a thing for about half an hour before I snapped back to reality and realized that I was mixing drinks like some crazy mad scientist in the kitchen... Needless to say, once things calmed down later in the night, I felt awful. What if one of those customers got sick or something? They probably thought I was the most unreliable bartender ever.... Since then, I've been beating myself up over it. Was that person really okay with my random creation? Did they actually enjoy it...? It's hard to tell from the few minutes I caught them after the fact. This confession is mainly out of guilt and wondering if anyone noticed. I'm trying not to let this one moment ruin how good I am at doing this job normally....
