Pouring My Thoughts into Drinks Tonight

Anonymous Shifty Gossip #804 · General

So there I was at work, stirring up this vodka cranberry for a regular. And it hits me like an old memory, that time in college when my best friend and I got kicked out of three different bars because we were just too damn funny. We thought it was hilarious at the time, but looking back, yeah, probably not our finest moment. Oh hey, do you know how many different ways you can muddle a drink? Like there’s this technique called the ‘bruise’ where you kinda pound on your mint leaves so they bruise and release more flavor into the cocktail. It sounds brutal when you put it like that, doesn’t it? Anyway, back to tonight: I was just reflecting on how much things have changed since those wild college days. Now here I am, pouring drinks for strangers with a side of nostalgia. The bartender life is all about these little moments where the past and present collide in your head as you stir up drinks. And let me tell you something else that happened tonight, this guy walks into my bar like he owns the place, orders an entire bottle of Patron just for himself, and then starts asking me out. I laughed it off because, hello, professionalism and all that jazz, but in my head, I was thinking how weird it is to have a drunk customer assume they can charm their way through a closed door after service hours. So yeah, tonight's been interesting in its own bar-tending sort of way. Just another day mixing drinks and memories.
