My Sneaky Work Habits
Anonymous Guilty Fox #954 · General
I've noticed a peculiar habit of mine when working from home. Every time I feel my concentration slipping or boredom setting in, I tend to slip into a mini-meeting with myself, essentially talking through tasks out loud as if discussing them with a coworker. It's strange how this vocal dialogue can jolt me back into focus, and sometimes it even helps solve problems that were previously stuck in the mental backlog. Of course, this doesn't exactly look professional to anyone else who might be home or passing by my desk, which leads me to wonder: is it really all that weird to have these verbal check-ins with myself? Am I just distracting myself from actual work? Or could this actually be a productive way of managing my tasks and thoughts? What do you think, am I doing something wrong here?
