Why Did I Do That?...

So there I was working my usual shift at the store, just another day in retail. But then this customer came in... She looked like she had a lot on her mind, you know, stressed out and stuff. And without thinking too much, I gave her this huge smile, told her everything would be okay... It wasn't my job to offer such comfort, but something about her just made me want to help. Now it's been days, and I keep wondering why I did that. Was it just the stress of the week? Or do I really feel like helping people more than I let on at work...
