When My Teenagers Think I'm Uncool

So here’s the thing, I’ve been trying to keep up with my teenagers’ slang and music preferences. Last night, during a family dinner, I casually mentioned listening to some of their Spotify playlists and they all looked at me like I just asked for tickets to an opera. Apparently, hearing your mom rap along to Cardi B isn’t exactly the cool parent move I thought it was. But seriously, how am I supposed to keep up with TikTok dance challenges if my kids won't even tell me which ones are popular? And don’t even get me started on the latest slang, I feel like a complete idiot trying to use terms like 'spill the tea' or 'squad goals.' Am I the only parent struggling with this, or is it just another way they keep me at bay until they hit 30 and move out? Anyone have tips for staying cool in their eyes without looking like a total fraud?
