New Hobby Blues

Just started learning to paint last week and I'm already frustrated. Bought this fancy set with all the colors and brushes but every time I sit down at my desk, nothing comes out. The blank canvas just stares back at me like it's mocking me or something. Tried copying a picture online too but ended up smearing everything into an unrecognizable mess. Told myself I'd commit to it for a month, hoping inspiration will strike eventually. But seriously, why can't I paint like all the others? Maybe I'm just not cut out for this creative stuff after all.
