New at Painting and It Sucks

So I picked up painting because everyone says it's relaxing. First day and my hand is cramping from holding the brush, my clothes are splattered with paint, and honestly, it looks like a five-year-old threw up on canvas. Not to mention, I've been staring at this one stupid tree for an hour trying to get the leaves right and now they look more like tiny green clouds than foliage. My friends thought it was funny when I showed them my 'masterpiece,' but I'm pretty sure they were just being nice. So here's to me, joining a new hobby and realizing that maybe 'relaxing' isn't exactly the word for this, unless you count stressing yourself out about not doing anything well as relaxing. Maybe I'll stick with watching paint dry instead.
