My Secret Comic Book Obsession...

So I started this new hobby about a month ago. My friend Sarah introduced me to comic books, and before I knew it, I was spending every Saturday morning at the local comic shop. At first, I felt like an outsider since everyone there seemed so knowledgeable and invested in their collections...but then I found myself pouring over issues and discussing plot points with strangers who shared my love for these colorful heroes. But here's where things get tricky. My parents were never big on comics or graphic novels...they always favored traditional literature and the classics. So, I kept my hobby a secret from them at first. It was like having this whole new life hidden away in my room... I bought myself a nice comic book holder for under my bed where they wouldn't see it, but even with that, I still worried about being discovered... What if they found out and thought I had become some kind of delinquent? Or worse, what if they got really mad at me for spending money on something they disapprove of? So here's the thing: last week, my dad asked to see my room. He was looking into getting a new bookshelf since my collection is starting to overflow... I panicked! I had to hide all those comic books under blankets and pillows just so he wouldn't find out about them... I know it might seem silly, but the thought of disappointing him or losing his trust over something like this hobby really got to me. It's hard enough finding time for comics as it is... So now I'm stuck between telling my parents the truth and risking their reaction or keeping up this web of lies... Maybe I should just come clean? Or maybe I can continue to enjoy my comic books in secret until they find out on their own...
