...The Time I Pulled a Prank That Backfired Horribly...

So there's this guy in my dorm named Jake who's always like, trying to be all cool and stuff. He never really talks to anyone unless he thinks it'll give him brownie points with the professor or something. But I got tired of his constant self-important attitude one day... So, me and my roommate Mike hatched a little plan to teach him a lesson. We put up posters around campus about this secret society called 'The Brotherhood of Boredom,' where you have to be super bored to join. We made it seem like some kind of exclusive club that only the most apathetic college students could ever aspire to. Of course, the key was to make it look official and fancy... Jake saw one poster early in the week and seemed intrigued... By Friday, he had practically worn a hole in the floor outside the frat house where we said 'The Brotherhood of Boredom' held their meetings. When Jake came back to our dorm with this look of sheer determination on his face, we couldn't hold it anymore - we burst out laughing... He was so caught up in trying to prove himself that he didn't even notice how ridiculous the whole thing seemed... So he ended up inviting us all to join 'The Brotherhood' for some kind of initiation ritual at a dive bar. We showed up, and this whole weird scene happened with Jake pretending to be some kind of bored cult leader. He was so into it... But then, as we were leaving the bar, one of his close friends spotted him in this ridiculous getup... And the next day, word got around like wildfire that our friend Jake had joined some kind of wacky secret society for overachieving slackers. It didn't go over well at all - he was pretty much a laughingstock... Jake tried to make it seem like it was just him being a rebel or something... But we could tell he was really embarrassed and annoyed with us. He hasn't spoken to either of us since that night... I kinda feel bad about it now, but at the time? It seemed hilarious in its own twisted way... So yeah, moral of this story is - don't go around pretending you're some kind of bored superhero because it might come back and bite you. Or at least, be prepared for a little social backlash...
