My Little White Lie at Work

You know how you sometimes tell a little fib just because it's easier? Well, I did that recently and now every time I look at my clipboard, I feel guilty. See, one of our patients was really worried about their blood test results last week. They kept asking me if there were any problems or complications with them over and over again. And you know how annoying that can be when you're busy, right? But instead of telling them the truth - which is usually something like 'We need to wait for a doctor's review' - I made up this little lie and said 'The results look great!' It was just so they'd stop asking me every five minutes. But now, whenever I see their name on my list, I feel really guilty about it. Like, maybe I should have been more honest with them? Or is that too much to ask of a busy nurse? Huh, who knew white lies could cause such guilt! Oh wait, the story was actually about me and not the patient's results... Well, you get my point.
