Family Prank Gone Wrong

I played a prank on my younger sister yesterday. I switched her toothpaste with hot sauce without telling anyone. After she complained about the taste, everyone laughed and teased her, but it wasn't funny to me. My mom grounded me for a week, which is fair. Was this prank too mean? I feel bad now.
