My Art Teacher's Secret Obsession with My Work

So there I was, just minding my own business in art class, trying to channel some serious angst into a black-and-white sketch. Little did I know, my teacher Mr. Thompson had been secretly obsessed with my work ever since he caught me sneaking in some surrealist doodles on the back of my notes last year. Anyway, one day after class, he pulls me aside and practically gushes over this abstract piece I whipped up during a free period. His eyes were like saucers! Next thing you know, he's offering to display it at a local gallery as part of some 'student genius' showcase. It was kind of awkward, I mean, it’s not every day your teacher gets all starry-eyed over your art project. But hey, when the spotlight is on me, I’ll take whatever comes my way. Now, if only he could get his own act together and learn to draw more than stick figures.
