I Joined a Knitting Circle, And I Might Be Obsessed?

So, I recently started knitting. It was supposed to be just a casual hobby, something relaxing after work. But it’s getting harder and harder to separate my crafting from the rest of my life. I spent half an hour yesterday counting stitches while in the middle of a meeting, much to my boss’s frustration. And today, I even tried sneaking some knitting needles into the coffee shop, they don’t have any yarn here though, so that was pointless. I’ve joined this fantastic local knitting circle where we talk about our projects and share tips. Everyone there is super supportive and encouraging. But now I find myself thinking about my next project non-stop. Last night, I woke up at 2 AM with an idea for a sweater design and spent the rest of the morning sketching out patterns instead of sleeping. Is this normal? Or am I going too far already? What’s a reasonable amount of time to spend on crafting as a hobby? Any advice from experienced knitters would be amazing. Should I keep it as just a weekend thing, or embrace my newfound obsession?
